I am a recent graduate of the Kent State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication, receiving my Bachelors of Science in Visual Journalism in May of 2017. I started working in digital media in high school, learning to stop motion videos as well as Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator basics.

My path in media production has taken me down many different roads. As a Freshman and Sophomore I worked as a photographer for the daily student newspaper "The Kent Stater," shooting 4-5 assignments per week including local news, events, collegiate sports, and features from the college community.

After my time as a news photographer, I shifted my focus and began working as a a multimedia producer at Signum Design, a student operated graphic design and multimedia studio servicing the Kent State Student Center, the Center for Student Involvement, and Student Organizations. At Signum, I was able to elevate my creativity through more stylized portrait and lifestyle photography. I also began focusing on video/audio production and editing as well as motion graphics and 2D character animation. I strive to find ways to utilize the full capabilities of video, audio, and motion graphic design in every project I work on.

During my Senior year, I worked as a Photo Intern at AkronLife Magazine, a monthly lifestyle magazine covering Akron and the surrounding region of Summit, Portage, Medina and Stark Counties.

My experiences in newspaper journalism, magazine production, and advertising have taught me the value of being organized, deadline oriented, and determined. Working in journalism also gave me a passion and greater appreciation for the power of visual storytelling. Whether for journalistic or advertising purposes, I plan to follow that passion by discovering, creating, and telling important stories whenever I can.

I currently work as a Internet Marketing Assist for Fred Martin Motor Company, parent company of several new and used car dealerships in Ohio and Kentucky. I feel today that my path of education and experiences in media production has come full circle, but I hope to never stop learning! I have been able to utilize my abilities and knowledge gained throughout high school and college to help me work more cooperatively, efficiently, and creatively alongside other creative producers. My goal as I continue my career is to be a part of a small collaborative team that continues to learn and grow from each other’s experience and works hard to produce meaningful and creative work we can all be proud of.
